President Jonathan to launch NEDEP and NIRP today to battle unemployment.

President Goodluck Jonathan will today launch the National Enterprise
Development Programme (NEDEP) and the Nigeria Industrial Revolution
Plan (NIRP) at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.

The two programmes are the Federal Government's flagship initiatives
aimed at fast tracking Nigeria's industrialisation process,
diversifying the economy as well as facilitating the development of
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the country.

The programme which is anchored on 'One Local Government, One
Product' (OLOP) is seen as a springboard for the creation of 5
million jobs by the end of 2015 and serve as a catalyst for the
reduction of unemployment, pervasive poverty and guarantee the growth
of the rural economy.
