SD BEAUTY TIP OF THE DAY: HOW TO APPLY EYE SHADOW

 Eye Shadow Tips
Eyeshadow serves to enhance or "bring out" your eyes, but it's not the only thing you can use to do so. You can also use eyeliners and mascara with eyeshadow to make your eyes pop. Here we will discuss the basics of how to apply eyeshadow. Explore your options for eyeshadow palettes, so you can match your every mood and outfit. They come in a wide variety and some include nearly every color possible.
Before Applying Eyeshadow
  • Colors - Choose eyeshadow colors that complement your eye color
  • Eye Shadow Base - Now that you've got the right color of palette for your eyes, choose an eyeshadow base. The eyeshadow base helps your colors last longer and stay in place. Try L'Oreal Paris DE-CREASE Eye Shadow Base.        READ HOW TO APPLY BELOW
How to Apply Eyeshadow
  1. Start with a clean face.
  2. Apply the base to your entire eyelid area up to the brow. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Choose three complementing eyeshadow colors that are light, medium, and dark in intensity. The medium color is the base, the lightest color is the highlighter, and the darkest color is the contour.
  4. Using the supplied applicator, apply the base, or medium color, onto the main area of your eyelid that is directly over your eyeball; go slightly into the crease with it. Sweep the eyeshadow slightly out at the outside edge.
  5. Now apply the lightest color, or highlighter, above the base and up to the brow. Sweep it out slightly at the outside edge as you did with the first color.
  6. Apply the darkest color, or contour, to the crease using the pointed tip of your applicator and a light hand. Apply a bit of the dark color just to the tip of the applicator, then apply a thin line starting at the inside corner of the eye and make the line wider as you move toward the outside of the eyelid.
  7. Continue with the darkest color just past the edge of the crease of your eyelid and bring the tip back to touch the outside edge of your lashes.
  8. Soften the line of the dark contour color with either a Q-tip or a clean applicator tip and smudge it into the lashes slightly. You're finished!
